It is officially over, you caught them cheating and there was no remorse so you or they ended the relationship. Now that the ordeal is finally over, there is one question that remains, what are you supposed to do when the cheating spouse leaves?

Simply put, you move on. Now of course that is much easier said then done. You may have spent the better part of your life with this individual. Maybe they were your first and only love and you have just a horrible feeling off loss. How are you supposed to just move on?

It is natural to take some time after the end of the relationship. You are going to need a little time to heal. During that healing process though, you cannot shut down. You have to lay the groundwork on getting to the next stage of your life and the first part of that is getting your ex-spouse out of your life. You need to get everything in that house that reminds you of them out so you don't have a daily reminder of them smacking you in the face each and every day. This is obviously much tougher if you have children, but you can still remove the physical aspect of them from the house.

After you heal, it is time to get back out there. You surely don't want to be alone for the rest of your life and you deserve to be happy. They are the one that screwed up and you should not be punished for that. And now you know what to look for. Whatever you do, don't rush into anything, take your time and get to know the person. If you see signs that you are unfortunately already familiar with, get out and look for someone else. There are good people out there, you just have to find them. It may take a little while before you trust anyone again, but eventually, that special someone will come out of the woodwork and you will wonder what you were ever doing with the other guy in the first place.

Putting your life back together after a break up is never easy. It takes a lot of work and determination, but the bottom line is that you have to move on. You have to live and enjoy your life. If you don't, you are just giving the cheating spouse the satisfaction of knowing that they ruined your forever. Nobody ever deserves to have that hanging over their heads. Find happiness and put the cheater behind you.
